E-Disclosure Providers in the UK

I used to keep a list of companies providing litigation software and services in the UK. It emphasised that entry on the list was not an endorsement or a recommendation, and that nothing was to be inferred from omission. Its purpose was merely to show what kinds of services exist and to make it easy for lawyers to make contact with a range of suppliers.

It became increasingly difficult to maintain this page. It quickly fell out of date, and there are too many shades of grey which I prefer to explain rather than merely list. Some products have a significant place in the UK market, but no presence here. There is much overlap, and increasingly so, between the range of functionality and services offered by providers, and they do not necessarily fit neatly under neat headings.

I am happy to take calls from lawyers who want to talk through who does what in the UK market, but will make no recommendations of one provider over others.

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not get involved in system selection, nor does any of my income flow from introductions. I know most of the main players in the UK market, some better than others, and it is often helpful for lawyers to talk through what the different types of supplier do and what factors influence a choice between one type of supplier and another. The fact that a company makes more noise and bangs on more doors than its rivals should not be a dominant element in the selection process.

Such conversations are helpful to me as well.  Part of my role is to help suppliers understand the market in which they operate, and the ability to do that depends in part on hearing what problems the lawyers are facing and in assessing their level of knowledge.
